CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability)
The Certificate III in Individual Support is a nationally recognised qualification for
individuals seeking to work in community, home or residential care settings.
This course focuses on developing practical skills to support people who require
assistance due to ageing, disability or other support needs. Training emphasises personcentred care, communication, and safe work practices required in care environments.
Learning is hands-on and designed to reflect real care settings, supporting the
development of confidence and capability for entry-level support roles.
A mandatory work placement component enables students to apply their skills in a
supervised workplace environment

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who provide assistance in accordance with individualised support plans while working under supervision and delegation as part of a care team.
Graduates apply their skills within the scope of their job role and in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian Standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
To be awarded this qualification, students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of mandatory work placement, as specified in the assessment requirements of the units of competency.
Pathway
This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of community and/or residential setting including people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other circumstances.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements mandated by the training package for this qualification; however, all students are required to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to enrolment.
Students must also have:
- National Police Clearance (issued within 6 months of course commencement)
- Working With Children Check
- Proof of identity
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
