Unique Student Identifier (USI)

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for all students undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia.

You must have a USI before a certificate or Statement of Attainment can be issued by DNA Kingston Training.

What Is a USI?

A USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters. It allows you to:

  • Access your training records and transcripts
  • Receive nationally recognised qualifications
  • View your completed training in one place

Your USI stays with you for life and can be used for all future training.

Who Needs a USI?

You need a USI if you are:

  • Enrolling in a nationally recognised course
  • Completing a short course that issues a Statement of Attainment
  • Studying with any Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Australia

This applies to local and international students studying in Australia.

How to Apply for a USI

Applying for a USI is free and takes only a few minutes. You can create your USI online via the Australian Government website: Apply for a USI
https://www.usi.gov.au

To create your USI, you will need a form of valid identification, such as:

  • Australian passport
  • Australian birth certificate
  • Medicare card
  • International passport and visa (for international students)

In some circumstances, DNA Kingston Training can apply for a USI on your behalf with your written consent. Contact us to discuss this option
